Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux approx. 1:00 PM Check in to your hotel for 2 nights. Chef Eric will greet the participant at the hotel in the afternoon with a wine and cheese reception and wine tasting workshop. Visit to Place de La Bourse and historical district a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 2: Drive to the Medoc region on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Lunch in Margaux, wine tasting at a World renowned estate vineyard. Visit and tasting at the Chateau d’Agassac.
Day 3: Guided visit and tasting of world famous Château Pape Clément producing Grand Cru Classé red and white wines in Pessac-Léognan in the Graves Classification. Drive to the right bank of the Gironde today, where the luscious Entre-Deux-Mers wines are produced; lunch enroute. Check-in to your Château hotel adjacent to the Leognan vineyard which we will visit for a private tasting.
Day 4: Departure for Arcachon. Visit of the Grande Dune du Pilat; the tallest sand dune in Europe over the Arcachon Bay. Visit Arcachon Bay with oysters and shellfish lunch with local Bordeaux Blanc.
Day 5: Check-out and depart for Sauternes and visit of a 1er Grand Cru Sauternes where the world’s finest sauterne is produced.(Last time we visited and tasted Château d’Yquem). Then departure to St.Emilion where we will stay in a Château hotel. Visit of Saint-Emilion.
Day 6: After check-out you will take the short drive to Cognac. Guided visit of Château Otard and the Château of Cognac. Learn about the history, the terroir and the cognac making process. Taste fine Cognacs.
Day 7: Free morning in Cognac, lunch in Cognac. The afternoon will be spent with a world renowned. Cognac producer, after visiting the distillery and cellars you will have an opportunity to taste XO Cognacs. Departure for Bordeaux.
Day 8: Return flight to Vancouver. Those choosing to travel onto Paris will be taken to the station for the TGV train.

Day 1: You will be met at Paris Montparnasse Station and
Bordeaux: The flourishing capital of the Aquitaine region, is world famous for its wines which contribute $14B to the French economy. A wonderful mixture of old and new it is a UNESCO World Heritage City.
Medoc: To the north of Bordeaux, the region boasts 1,500 vineyards divided into Medoc, in the north, none for elegant but delicate wines and Haut-Medoc to the south. 25% of the Medoc vineyards produce grands crus classes.
Saint Emilion: Wine production here dates back to Roman times, later monks continued the tradition. Emilion was one such monk. Wines produced here are known to be robust, richly coloured and quick to mature. This area is also famous for food, particularly dishes featuring mushrooms, sauerkraut, spareribs, lamb and salmon Located on the right bank of the Gironde, the region is a UNESCO Heritage site due to its prehistoric ruins and fine Romanesque Churches.
Cognac: In medieval times Cognac was an important stop along the pilgrimage trail to Santiago de Compostella. Excellent white wines are produced here to match the seafood, particularly oyster, dishes for which Cognac is also justly famous. But, of course, Cognac is most famous for the drink that bears it’s name. To be called Cognac only brandy made in certain designated locations close to the town.
Paris: City of Light, but when you stroll along the banks of the Seine in the evening and observe young Parisian couples, you will soon realize why it is also the City of Romance. Paris is also one the most beautiful cities from the point of view of architecture. And let’s not forget culture; the Louvre is, perhaps the World’s most famous museum and the Quay d’Orsay is certainly one of the finest Modern Art museums anywhere; particularly if you like Impressionism. My personal favourite is L’Orangie, the gallery, close to the Louvre, which houses Monet’s giant Water.

|What is a Thalassotherapy hotel?|
